Former Wirecard CEO arrested on charges of inflating balance sheet

Previous Wirecard CEO Markus Braun has been captured on charges of swelling the organization’s accounting report, investigators in Munich said on Tuesday.

Braun surrendered on Friday after the German installment specialist co-op said evaluators at EY couldn’t find 1.9 billion euros ($2.1 billion) of money on its accounting report. On Monday, the organization said all things considered, those assets don’t exist.

Investigators said that Braun handed himself over on Monday evening and would be brought to a researching judge on Tuesday who will at that point choose whether he ought to stay in care.
